Vajrakilaya overcomes obstacles to spiritual activities by using the skillful means of wrathful compassion to vanquish inner emotional poisons of our own minds, and to avert outer calamities.

Tibetan New Year of 2009 will mark the 28th year that extensive Vajrakilaya ceremonies have been performed in the western centers Chagdud Gonpa—in Tibet Chagdud Gonpa such ceremonies are a centuries-old tradition.

Jigme Tromge Rinpoche, son of H. E. Chagdud Rinpoche and truly a master of Vajrakilaya, will lead the ceremonies.

These four days are a closed retreat. The commitment is to remain within the boundaries until Wednesday morning.

Offering opportunities
For those who cannot attend the drubchen, it is possible to make offerings and request prayers that personal obstacles be overcome. Many people make such offerings and requests on behalf of their family, friends, and for the peace and prosperity of sentient beings. In addition, a special ceremony for those who have died will be conducted during this time. Offerings and requests to remove obstacles and to recite prayers for the deceased can be sent to Khadro Ling.

Location and Access
Chagdud Gonpa (Khadro Ling) is in the city of Três Coroas, RS. The entrance for the Gonpa is at the first junction at Três Coroas on route RS-115 (Taquara – Gramado) or by bus 177 on route RS-020 (Taquara-S. Francisco de Paula).

Dress code
Because drubchen represents the most exalted level of ceremony, the appropriate dress is a full-length chuba skirt with a modestly cut top in red, burgundy, yellow, gold, brown, dark blue, or white. It will be hot, but no excuses.
